Brittiny Roberts, Programmer

Hey there, I am Brittiny Roberts and I am a programmer for Games Omniverse, among other endeavors. I currently reside in the Deep South in Summerdale, Alabama, where I was born and raised. Since mid-2013, I have worked in the gaming and commercial software industries, and I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Game Programming from the University of Advancing Technology in May 2015. If I have spare time, I can usually be found playing video games, researching genealogy, or studying archaeology.

For as far back as I can remember, I have been playing video games. When I was growing up, we didn’t have entertainment venues, including arcades. I was lucky to even fall into gaming at all. It all started when I was a toddler, snooping through my dad’s closet, when I found a strange contraption with cords. Of course, they caught me, but my parents saw my interest in the device so, they plugged it up to the television and showed me how to play my first gaming console, the Atari 7200(should this be 5200 or 7800?). Due to the decent variety of systems we obtained over time, I have remained unbiased in any console wars, as I love them all. It even led me to start collecting consoles, where I now have 24 different systems ranging from the Magnavox Odyssey to the Virtual Boy and other classics to the current generation systems. I sort of love video games.

I actually had no idea I was going to be a programmer. It was senior year in high school that I actually thought about video games on a deeper level besides playing them, and that’s when I decided I wanted to make games. Entering college, I had no previous programming experience, so it was a little intimidating jumping right it with all the odds stacked against me. Regardless, I made it through, somewhat still in one piece, and have had a vast range of experiences that have all led up to this moment. I appreciate everyone who has helped me along the way, including my parents, sisters, fiancé, and the mentors and coworkers I’ve had the honor or working with.

Oh yeah, I also love music. Check it out:
