Steeven Labeau: Concept Artist
Hello, I’m Steeven Labeau. I am an illustrator and environment artist for Games Omniverse. I am currently living in France, but I was born and grew up on the small sunny island of Martinique located in the French West Indies. As a child, I wanted to be a paleontologist, but a love for reading comic books fed a growing desire to become a comic book artist. Nintendo’s Game and Watch and Game Boy developed my interest in video games, making me want to get involved in creating games. My desire to tell stories with my drawings was so strong, after high school, that I went to Europe to study visual communication, illustration, and comics’ creation.
Working with Games Omniverse is a great opportunity for me to be a part of a creative adventure bigger than what I’ve previously done, and I am also driven by the curiosity to see the creation of a game from inside. Outside the Omniverse, I mainly work with publishers or independent comics studios as a letterer or illustrator. A children’s book titled, Tita et les esprits de la forêt (Tita and the spirits of the Forest), that I illustrated has been recently released in France. Written by Ophélie Marten-Jeanroy and published by Les Mers Australes, the book tells the story of an intrepid girl who tries to escape from a haunted Tahitian forest. I’m currently illustrating a second book, this time in a medieval context, for Xist Publishing.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and our cat. I also enjoy cooking, playing games, reading, walking, running, watching movies and cartoons, or just relaxing and getting ready to start new creative challenges.
Thanks for stopping by!
